There is very little of your data here
Wager Landmark is a set of static pages. No account exists to register for, no form on the site sends anything to a server of ours, and there is no advertising or analytics tag anywhere in the markup. This page explains the small amount that does happen.
Who is responsible, and for what
The data controller is Wager Landmark, an independent editorial site operating from the United Kingdom, reachable at hello@wagerlandmark.com. We are not an operator and hold no player accounts, so we never see anything about your gambling: no balances, no stakes, no identity documents, no payment details.
Three things exist, and that is the complete list. Your browser stores one small item locally when you answer the cookie notice. Our hosting provider logs requests to the site in the normal way any web server does. And if you email us, we have your email.
Nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing. There is no mailing list, no profiling and no advertising audience built from visits here.
What is handled, and why
- Your cookie-notice choice
- Stored in your browser's local storage as wl-cookie-choice, holding one word. It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and exists only so the notice does not reappear on every page. Clearing site data removes it and the notice comes back.
- Server logs
- Our host, Vercel, records requests as part of delivering the site: the page requested, a timestamp, browser and device type, and an IP address. That is technical necessity and security, it is aggregated for us rather than shown per visitor, and Vercel acts as our processor under its own data terms. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — keeping the site working and defending it against abuse.
- Emails you send
- The contact form does not submit anywhere. It opens a draft in your own email program, and nothing reaches us until you press send. Once an email arrives we hold whatever you put in it, for as long as the matter is live and generally no more than twelve months afterwards. Basis: legitimate interests in answering correspondence.
- Web fonts
- Typefaces are requested from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. It is the only third-party request the pages make.
What happens when you follow an operator link
Our links carry a tracking parameter identifying us as the referrer, and the operator's own site may set a cookie once you arrive there. From that moment you are on their property and their privacy policy governs everything — registration, verification, marketing preferences, the lot. We receive no personal data back. Commission reporting reaches us as counts and totals, never as names, and we could not identify an individual player from it if we tried. The mechanics are described further in the affiliate disclosure.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You can ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask for it corrected, ask for it deleted, ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to our processing altogether. If you have emailed us, that is realistically the only data there is to ask about, and deletion takes about as long as it takes to empty a mailbox folder.
Requests go to hello@wagerlandmark.com and we answer within one month. You do not need to give a reason and we will not charge you. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Transfers, security and retention
The site is served from Vercel's global network, so requests may be handled outside the UK under the safeguards in Vercel's data processing terms. Pages are delivered over HTTPS. Since there is no database, no login and no stored form submission on this site, there is no account of yours here to be breached — a design choice rather than an accident.
Children
This site is for adults. Nothing here is aimed at under-18s and we do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
If what we do changes — an analytics tool, for instance — this page changes with it and the date at the bottom of the site moves. There is no versioned archive, because a policy nobody can read the current version of is worse than a short one. The cookie policy covers browser storage in more detail, and terms of use covers the rest of the relationship.
